Public Information Officer
Krystyne Brown is a Nashville native and Public Information Officer for the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. In her role as PIO, she is responsible for all of DIDD’s video and social media endeavors, which tell the stories of Tennesseans with disabilities and promotes services to support them to live fulfilling and rewarding lives.

Krystyne graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Spanish. From there, she became a journalist in rural South Georgia as a one-man-band cub reporter and breaking news desk morning anchor. Moving up the news ladder, she then moved to Upstate South Carolina to take on a job as a bureau Chief Reporter and Multimedia Journalist. Her work covering local and national news stories was recognized with a 2017 Emmy nomination. In early 2017, Krystyne decided to make the move out of TV news to pursue her current career that combines her passions for videography, storytelling, social media and being a part of an organization working towards a greater good.

Outside of work, you will likely find her wrangling her two large dogs with her husband AJ, traveling, exploring nature, or creating and enjoying art.
